In 2001 I got to travel to Cambodia working on a documentary film Out of the Poison Tree. From a photography standpoint this was a back to basics shoot. I took very little equipment with me instead of a car full of studio lighting.

This was the pre digital era, and to shoot in B/W and Color I ended up taking a Hasselblad with one lens, and for 35mm I took an Nikon F3 and FM with a couple of lenses.

Having a Polaroid Back for the Hasselblad was invaluable for giving away to subjects I met or photographed along the way. One of my favorite photos is the mother and newborn. I spotted her while having lunch and took her portrait and gave her a few polaroids to keep.
