Portraits 1986-1994

When I was assisting, I met a lot of art directors and magazine photo editors, mostly in pubs after a shoot! If you were really lucky and got to show your work at some point, you might even get a small shoot that no one wanted to do. I did a few of these before I started getting some “real” work.

Another way to beef up your portfolio was to shoot personal projects. This gave you fresh work to talk about when showing your portfolio to magazine editors and art directors. Below is a mix of magazine work and personal projects, three of which are from a trip I did to Montana before I moved to the US.
